Robert Louis Szymanski, 79, of Ossineke passed away Friday, June 21, 2019 at Medilodge – Alpena surrounded by his family.
Robert was born in Maple Ridge Twp. on July 17, 1939 to the late Louis and Madeline (Ellsworth) Szymanski. Following graduation from AHS, he enlisted and served in the United States Army serving overseas and was honorably discharged in January of 1961. Bob worked on the family beef farm and trucked cattle throughout the State of Michigan. He was a lifetime member of St. Catherine Catholic Church, an avid hunter and loved his hounds.
Surviving are his siblings; Janet (Thomas) Sharpe, Carol Beatty, Duane (Francie) Szymanski, Teresa (Judy Horning) Szymanski, seven nieces and nephews, Lori (Daniel) Dehring, Susan (Rick) Beattie-Page, Debbi Hallahan, David (Lisa) Beatty, Tamyra (Craig) Brayko, Trevor (Stephanie) Szymanski, Tricia (Ricardo) Lujambio; and many great nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by three brothers-in-laws, Gerald Fussey, Jr., Louis Dehring and Lyle Beatty.
A graveside service will take place on Monday at 2 p.m. at St. Catherine Cemetery.
The family will gather with friends and family on Friday, July 19, 2019 at St. Catherine Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Rev. Robert Bissot. Arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home. The family would like to thank Medilodge – Alpena, Hospice of Michigan and Compassionate Care for the care given to Bob.
Interment: St. Catherine Cemetery
