Lawrence George David Sauls, 76, of Lachine passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at MidMichigan Medical Center – Alpena.
Lawrence was born on July 30, 1943 in Royal Oak, Michigan to the late Corbin and Betty (Green) Sauls. On January 16, 1971, he married L. Rosalie Wales. Larry served in the United States Air National Guard for 33 ½ years, retiring in 1995 with 28 years at Phelps Collins Air National Guard. He was a member of Alpena Moose Lodge, Alpena Long Beards, and American Legion Grayling. Larry enjoyed spending time with his family, and camping, fishing, hunting, and wood working.
Surviving are his wife, Rosalie; four children, Dale (Charlene) Gauthier, Kathy (Jeff) Sindle, Debbie (Kent) Schupp, Goldie (Billy) Scott; five siblings, Dexter (Patsy) Sauls, Dianna (Ron) Knapp, Elgin (Joan) Sauls, Martin Sauls, Nona (Curt) Manning; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Sauls was preceded in death by his infant son, Lawrence Jr. and brother, Carl Sauls.
A private graveside service will take place Saturday, May 9, at Long Rapids Township Cemetery with Rev. Arnie Kirschner officiating. A celebration of life and military honors will be held later.
