David Stanley Goodburne, 90, of Alpena passed away Saturday, May 16, 2020 at his home.
David was born on April 19, 1930 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Raymond and Elizabeth (Capallo) Goodburne. At the age of 15, he had a peanut vending machine route. He served in the United States Air Force 1950 – 1954 and. On November 27, 2004, he married Joan Ferris. David owned and operated the Spray Service and worked for the City of Alpena Fire Department from 1962, working his way up to lieutenant, until retiring as a captain in 1986. He was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, American Legion, Serviceman’s Club Rogers City, Alpena Yacht Club, and Trinity Episcopal Church, where he was an usher for many years.
Surviving are his wife, Joan; four children, Mike (Janet) Bagnieschi, April (John) Bellmore, Edward (Mary) Goodburne, David (Vicki) Goodburne; two stepchildren, Mike (Sherry) Oles, Leeta (Dave) Clark; 9 grandchildren, Chrissy (Terry) Jore, Jacob Bellmore, Lucas Bellmore, Jesse Goodburne, Crystal Case, Joanna Clark, Tavis Goodburne, Ashley Goodburne, Ben Goodburne; 2 great grandchildren, Carissa Jore, Allyson Bellmore; siblings, Ron Goodburne, Sheila (Robert) Wollard, Sydney Urbanowicz, Bruce Goodburne; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Goodburne was preceded in death by his sister, Barb Kollien.
A memorial service will take place at a later time at Trinity Episcopal Church. Cremation arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
