Chinnamma Philip Kuriakose, 74, of Alpena passed away Friday, March 13, 2020 at her home.
Chinnamma Philip Chacko was born on January 26, 1946 in Udayamperoor, Kerala, India to the late Xavier and Anna (Joseph) Chacko and married Joy Kuriakose on May 28, 1973. Chinnamma immigrated to the United States in 1980 and completed her citizenship in 1994. She worked as a nurse for many years including at Tendercare – Alpena, Tendercare – Greenview, Alpena General Hospital and retired from Alpena Regional Medical Center in 2015. Following retirement, she volunteered her nursing skills by volunteering at the Alpena Free Clinic. She was a member of All Saints Parish, enjoyed gardening and crocheting. She was a wonderful cook and loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are her husband, Joy; 2 children, Philip (Erin) Kuriakose, Preetha (Jim) Hartzler; 5 grandchildren, Allison, Elsie, Lucy, Khloe, Logan; siblings, Mary Charoth, Salamma (Sebastian) Kuttikkattil, Xavier (Rani) Chacko; and many nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Kuriakose was preceded in death by 2 infant brothers, Joseph and Joseph; and 3 sisters, Lilly Chacko, Elsie Joseph and Reethamma John.
Memorial visitation will take place at St. Anne Church of All Saints Parish on Saturday, April 18, 2020 from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon with Rev. Joseph Muszkiewicz officiating. Cremation arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
