William Theodore Compeau, 80, of Hillman passed away September 28, 2021, at MidMichigan Medical Center-Alpena.
William Theodore Compeau was born May 9, 1941, to the late William Earl and Margaret Agatha (Bouchey) Compeau, He married Ellen Faye Werda on May 15, 1971. She preceded him in death on March 7, 2021.
Ted graduated from Hillman High School as Valedictorian along with being a Michigan Tech University graduate in mechanical engineering. He used his degree in work at GM Flint, Besser Company, and Wayne Wire Hillman. Ted retired and became a Hillman Public Schools bus driver.
Ted was a dedicated active member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, eucharistic minister, lector, usher, served on finance and pastoral councils, Knights of Columbus James Cronk Council 4th degree. He served as sexton of both St. Augustine Cemetery and Hillman Rust Township Cemetery. His hobbies included, telling past family stories history, family genealogy, hunting, snowmobiling, four wheeling, bowling, woodworking, playing solitaire on his laptop, building, helping people build anything, and he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He leaves behind children, Steve Compeau, Bill (Sherri) Compeau, John (Nicole Acha) Compeau, Kari (Jeff) Sobey, Jim (Karen) Compeau; grandchildren, Hunter, Wyatt, Jack, Rylan, Emerson; siblings, Elaine (Gary) Smith, Jane (Alfred) Dove, Beverly (Adelore) Pieczynski; and sister-in-law, Lois Compeau.
Mr. Compeau was preceded in death by his sister, Marie Radke; brother, George Compeau; and niece, Ashley Compeau.
Memorial visitation will take place Friday at St. Augustine Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 12 p.m. with Rev. James Siler officiating. Arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home. Live streaming will be at www.bannanfuneralhome.com.
