William Freese

William David Arthur Freese, 85, of Alpena passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at MidMichigan Medical Center – Alpena.

William was born on November 21, 1935, in Alpena to the late Melbourne and Blanche (Mallette) Freese. He served in the United States Air Force. On May 4, 1968, he married Rose Mary Baker. William worked at the United States Post Office. He was director of H.E.A.L., Huron Environmental Activist League and member of the Alpena Genealogy Club.

Surviving are his wife, Rose Mary; daughter, Melissa Marwede; grandson, Trevor Marwede; and sister, Beatrice Kennedy.

Mr. Freese was preceded in death by infant brother, Melbourne Freese and brother, Frederick Freese.

Visitation will take place Tuesday at Bannan Funeral Home from 2 p.m. until the funeral service at 5 p.m. with Rev. Tyler Bischoff officiating. Military honors will be accorded him by Alpena V.F.W. Post 2496.
