Vivian Merrill

Vivian Joy Merrill, 84, of Alpena passed away Monday, December 16, 2019, at her home.

Vivian Joy Hankins was born on September 3, 1935, in Petoskey, Michigan to the late Marion and Bertha (Burrows) Hankins. On January 24, 1953, she married John Merrill. Vivian was a member of New Life Christian Fellowship. She enjoyed collecting dolls and crocheting.

Surviving are her husband, John; three sons, Bill (Joy) Merrill, John (Lee) Merrill, Mark Merrill; 5 grandchildren, Kris, Mike, Doug, Amy, Daniel; 3 great grandchildren; and sister, Sally (Rick) Merrill.

Mrs. Merrill was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Hankins, Esther Herzog; and brother, Gene Hankins.

Memorial visitation will take place Friday at New Life Christian Fellowship from 10 a.m. until the memorial service at noon with Pastor Gary Smith officiating. Arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
