June Duby, 97 of Alpena peacefully returned to her heavenly home on Thursday, October 21, 2021.
June was born on June 25, 1924, in Alpena to John and Leona (Belanger) Markowski. She graduated from St. Anne’s Catholic High School. On July 15, 1944, she married Robert Duby. They enjoyed traveling the country together during his time in the U.S Army Air Force before returning home to Alpena and taking over operations of Robert’s family business at the Coca-Cola bottling Company. June was always on the go and willing to lend a helping hand. She was a lifetime member of St. Anne’s serving as an officer and active member of Daughters of Isabella, St. Anne’s Sodality, and League of Catholic Women. As a very involved volunteer of the Alpena Hospital Auxiliary, June helped organize the monthly used-book sale and holiday nut sale for many years. When not volunteering, she loved to read, shop, and cheer on the sidelines of her grandkids sporting events. June leaves behind a rich legacy of loving family and friends.
