Steven J. Torhan

Steven J. Torhan, 73, of Alpena passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023, at his home.

Steven John Torhan was born in Detroit on March 21, 1950, to the late John and Helen (Kobrin) Torhan.  He attended Berkley High School, graduating in 1968 and went on to obtain a degree in Mortuary Science from Wayne State University. On April 11, 1981, he married Gayle Sharp. He worked in funeral service for over 50 years in Royal Oak, Flint, Rogers City, Birch Run and Alpena.

Surviving are his wife, Gayle; sisters, Amy (Barry) Chute, Joanie (Mark) Roos; sister-in-law, Laurie Sharp-Baker; brother-in-law, James (Bev) Sharp; niece, Darcy (Jonathan) Sieber; nephews, David (Tamar) Chute, Dr. Derek (Jill) Roos, Craig (Ashley) Roos, Jared (Miki) Roos; many great nieces and nephews.
 
Steve was preceded in death by brother-in-law, David Baker.

A private family service will take place at a later date.  Arrangements are being handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.

Inurnment: Oakview Cemetery, Royal Oak

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Huron Humane Society or Second Chance Animal Shelter.
