Shirley (Krey) Kelly

Shirley Alice (Krey) Kelly, 83, of Alpena passed away Friday, March 12, 2021 at MidMichigan Medical Center-Alpena.

Shirley Alice Wood was born in Flint on May 9, 1937 to the late John and Leona (Russel) Wood.  On October 10, 1953, she married Melvin Krey.  He preceded her in death on January 29, 1992.  On March 10, 1994, she married John Kelly.  He also preceded her in death on July 18, 2001.   Shirley worked as an Avon Salesperson for 25 years, receiving the President’s award for her sales many years.  She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church – Alpena and the DAV Auxiliary.  She enjoyed bowling, camping, traveling, and spending time at family gatherings.

Surviving are 3 children, Kathy (Larry) Srebnik, Sam (Susan) Krey, Allen Krey; stepson, John (Diana) Kelly; 9 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; brother, Clarence (Gina) Scheidler; sister, Connie Smith; and a brother-in-law, Marvin Jackson.

Shirley was preceded in death by grandson, Chad Srebnik; twin sister, Sharon Jackson and a brother Sam Wood.

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at the Bannan Funeral Home from 2-8 p.m.  and will continue on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at St. Paul Lutheran Church – Alpena from 2 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 3 p.m. with Rev. John Shipman officiating.

Interment: St. John's Hagenville Lutheran Cemetery
