Shirlaine Repke

Shirlaine Fern Repke, 92, of Alpena passed away Monday, December 28, 2020 at Precious Days AFC in Ossineke.

Shirlaine Fern McConnell was born in Alpena, May 13, 1928, Mother’s Day, to the late Orrin and Fern (Rosbeck) McConnell. She married the love of her life, Eugene H. Repke, on January 28, 1950. He preceded her in death on May 27, 1977. Shirlaine retired as a nurse aide from Alpena General Hospital in 1989.  She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and its St. Lucy’s Guild. Shirlaine enjoyed fishing in the Brown Trout Festival.

Surviving are her three children, Randy (Kay) Repke, Erin (Robert) Hemmingson, Lynn (Donald) Duby; daughter-in-law, Nancy Repke; 8 grandchildren, Dr. Chris (Bridgette) Repke, Eric (Brooke) Repke, Chad (Melissa) Repke, Jason (Ashley) Repke, Andrew (Katy) Kelsch, Adam Kelsch, Jordan Hemmingson, Brett Hemmingson; 10 great grandchildren, Luke, Ryan, Noah, Dylana, Alex (Kelly), Amber, Rowen, Rory, Kaelyn, and Charlie; brother, Orrin (Ruth) McConnell; sister, Janet (Roy) Bernson; sister-in-law, Jeannine McConnell; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Repke was preceded in death by her son, Eugene Repke and brother, Ralph Darryl McConnell.

Visitation will take place Saturday at Bannan Funeral Home from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. followed by a private funeral service at 1 p.m. with the Very Reverend William J. McClure officiating. For those unable to attend, livestreaming will be available at www.bannanfuneralhome.com.
