Royal Roger Urlaub, 87, of Alpena passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at his home.
Royal was born December 15, 1934, in Hawks, Michigan to the late LeRoy and Florence (Claus) Urlaub. On April 21, 1956, he married Pauline Miller. Royal worked at Abitibi for 40 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and was an usher, and a member of the F.O.P. Royal worked for the Detroit Tigers in Lakeland, Florida for ten spring seasons and enjoyed the Hawks Nest Camp with family.
Surviving are his wife, Pauline; three children, Pamela Cramer, Carrie (David Bradley) Wood, Rodney (Sara) Urlaub; six grandchildren, Chad (Shelby) Cramer, Jason (Kate) Cramer, Brittany (Ryan) Robinson, Tyler Wood, Justin (Brittany) Urlaub, Jacob Urlaub; 11 great grandchildren, Marissa, Andrew, Avianah, Joseph, Caleb, Kamdyn, Finn, Lilliana, Olivia, Mackenzie, Madelyn; three brothers, Bill (Marian) Urlaub, Lowell Urlaub, Loren (Bonnie) Urlaub; sister-in-law, Nancy Urlaub; numerous nieces and nephews.
Royal was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Mike Cramer; infant brother, Carlton; brother, Gerald Urlaub; and sister, Joy Salatino.
Visitation will take place Sunday at Bannan Funeral Home from 2 p.m. until the prayer service at 6 p.m. and continue Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Rev. James Erickson officiating. Streaming will be available at www.bannanfuneralhome.com.
Interment: New Bismarck Cemetery, Hawks, Michigan
