Robert Przykucki, Sr.

Robert J. Przykucki, Sr., 75, went to his peaceful rest on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at Medilodge of Alpena, surrounded by his family, following a long battle with Leukemia.

Bob was born on February 18, 1945 in Alpena to the late Leo and Irene (Niewola) Przykucki.  He graduated from Alpena Catholic Central, attended Alpena Community College and he graduated from the University of Michigan, Flint with a degree in social work.  Bob served in the Michigan Army National Guard.

He was employed by Buick Motor Division as an accountant for 36 years, retiring in 2002.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting with many trophy mounts.  He loved gardening and produced wonderful vegetables and showcase Dahlias.  He showed great pride in keeping a well-groomed yard and garden.  In his early years, he enjoyed bowling, golfing, and running.  He participated in the Bobby Crim Race in Flint, Michigan.  He enjoyed biking and riding trails in the Alpena area.

Bob was a man who set goals in his life and achieved them.  Thirty-eight years ago, he decided to eliminate alcohol and cigarettes from his life as he saw them as problematic to himself and those he loved.  His goal was to live a healthy life and his determination to live was stellar.  Three years ago, he underwent a stem cell transplant in hopes of giving him time to enjoy life.  We express gratitude to the donor for giving us more time to enjoy a father and brother with a delightful sense of humor and determination.

Bob is survived by his two children, Robert (Carol) of Redwood City, CA and Catherine (Ron) Stevenson of Martinez, CA; step-children Mary Lynn (Brad) Baldwin of North Carolina, Annette (Mike)Parenteau and Christina(Joe) Perala of Michigan; grandchildren, Serena and Leo Przykucki, Brooke and Drew Baldwin, Miranda Parenteau, Tommy and Vivian Perala; sisters, Bernice (Garry) Cruzen of Flushing, MI., Leona (Norman) Peterson of Naperville, Il, Julie Murray of Alpena, MI and sister-in-law Carlene Przykucki; several nieces and nephews and special friend, Sr. Jean Annette Rudolph of Adrian, MI.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Frank and brother-in-law, Ron Murray.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at a later date.  Arrangements are being handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
