Patrick Dennis Idalski, 79, of Alpena, MI passed away peacefully on Friday, August 28, 2020, surrounded by family in Atlanta, GA. His passing followed a very courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.
Patrick Dennis Idalski was born in Alpena, MI on October 3rd, 1940 to the late Walter and Clementine “Tina” (Hilla) Idalski and married the late Jeanette M. Zolnierek on August 18, 1962. Patrick held various sales and administrative positions with the Besser Company, where he retired after a very loyal 43 years of service. Patrick was a devout Catholic and a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He spent many years coaching little league baseball and loved watching all sports. He was an avid outdoorsman where he enjoyed hunting, fishing and being out in nature. As a member of the 8 Point Club in Herron, MI for many years, he passionately looked forward to hunting season each fall. He enjoyed spending time with family and cherished his grandchildren.
Patrick is survived by his three sons; Derek (Annette) Idalski of Atlanta, GA, Kurt Idalski of Chicago, IL, Brent (Jessica) Idalski of Glen Ridge, NJ; four beloved grandchildren, Ashley and Sara Idalski of Atlanta, GA and Ella and Quinn Idalski of Glen Ridge, NJ; one brother Steve (Cathy) Idalski of Alpena, MI; two sisters-in-law Diane (Earl) Phillips of Gastonia, NC, Louise Idalski of Alpena, MI; two brothers-in-law, Jim Zolnierek and Gary Risteau both of Alpena; and several wonderful nieces and nephews.
Patrick was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Jeanette Idalski, one sister Nancy Risteau, and two brothers; Norman Idalski and David Idalski.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, September 3rd at Bannan Funeral Home from 2-8 pm with a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Friday, September 4th from 5 pm St. Anne Church of All Saints Parish until time of the funeral service at 6 pm with Fr. Scott Lawler officiating.
