Patricia E. Homant

Patricia E. Homant, 85, went home to the Lord on March 11, 2022.

Pat was born in Alpena, Michigan on December 22, 1936, to the late Halvor and Dianna (LaBarge) Ritsen. She married her high school sweetheart, Thomas E. Homant, on September 29, 1956.  He preceded her in death just 7 days ago on March 4, 2022.  After high school, she worked as a secretary at R.A. Townsend Company, and while her children were in grade school, she was secretary to the Principal at St. Anne Catholic School.

Pat was a very devoted, loving, and compassionate wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was most happy cooking and baking wonderful meals for her family. Though Alzheimer’s robbed her of her memory, her grandchildren and great grandchildren always brought her big smiles and great joy. She loved working with flowers in her garden in the summertime. She and Tom spent many winters in Florida together and she enjoyed long walks on the beach.

She is survived by her children, Cathy (Jim) Matuszak, Ed (Deb) Homant and Jeff (Ashley) Homant. She also leaves behind seven grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

Pat was preceded in death by her great granddaughter, Jerzi Homant; and a brother, Ray Ritsen.

Memorial visitation will take place at St. Anne Church of All Saints Parish on Friday, March 18, 2022, from 1 p.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 2 p.m. with Rev. Michael Lingaur officiating.  Cremation arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
