Nancy Lay

Nancy Jane Lay, 78, of Alpena passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at Medilodge of Alpena.

Nancy Jane  was born on June 6, 1943, to the late Stephen and Ernestine (Chabot) Jaskey. She attended St. Anne grade school and Catholic Central, graduating in 1961. Nancy met and married Gerald Lay on July 19, 1969, when they both worked at Abitibi-Price, and they were married until his death on July 23, 2003. Things that she enjoyed doing included exercising at the ACC Wellness Center and Plaza Pool, casino bus trips, attending Mass, and shopping at Costco. She was a lifelong member of All Saints Parish and a member of the Ladies' Sodality and Rosary Society.

Her survivors include daughters Gretchen Kruse and Jennifer Lay-Luskin (Paul), her grandchildren Andrew Graham, Meaghen Kruse, Victoria Luskin, and Benjamin Luskin; a great granddaughter Sophie; her sister Maureen Pettis and a wonderful group of lifelong friends.

She was preceded in death by her sister Margie Zann.

Visitation will take place Monday, November 1, 2021, at Bannan Funeral Home from 3-7 p.m. with the rosary at 3 p.m. and a parish prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will continue Tuesday at St. Anne Church of All Saints Parish from 10 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Rev. Tyler Bischoff officiating.

Interment:  Holy Cross Cemetery
