Murel Kenneth Cohoon

Murel Kenneth Cohoon, 94, of Hillman passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at his home.

Murel was born December 6, 1928, in Rust Township to the late Stephen and Anna (Eddy) Cohoon. On May 21, 1949, he married Lela Slight-Orcutt. She preceded him in death on January 20, 2023. He worked at Pontiac Motors, retiring in 1980 after 35 years. Murel enjoyed hunting, traveling, genealogy, and woodworking.

Surviving are his five children, Carol Best, Sue Cohoon, Steven (Susan) Cohoon, Muriel Cohoon, Fern Cohoon; 7 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ruth Klein, Mildred (Pete) Kwapis, and Marion (Donald) Hansen.

Murel was preceded in death by sons-in-law, Harvey Edson, Josef Geczi; six brothers and one sister, Carl, Lillian, Harold, Russell, Ralph, Leo, and Arthur.

Visitation will take place Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Bannan Funeral Home – Hillman from 11 a.m. until the funeral service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Peter Smith officiating.
