Melba Herbek

Melba Ellen Herbek, 84, of Hillman passed away Monday, November 30, 2020 at her daughter’s home.

Melba Ellen Edwards was born on April 20, 1936 in Rust Township to the late Clifford and Irene (Kincaid) Edwards. On June 16, 1956, she married Carl Herbek. Melba worked as a teacher for Hillman Public Schools for 32 years, retiring in 1992. She was a member of St. Marks Episcopal Church. Melba enjoyed crochet, traveling, and spending time with family.

Surviving are her husband, Carl; daughter, Shari (David) Wilson; two sons, Randy (Lori) Herbek, Larry (Gloria) Herbek; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; and brother, Gerald Edwards.

Private visitation will take place at St. Marks Episcopal Church in Atlanta on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the private funeral service at 12 p.m. with Rev. Philip Seitz officiating.  The funeral will be live streamed at www.bannanfuneralhome.com.  Arrangements are being handled by the Bannan Funeral Home in Hillman.
