Marlene Thelma Fetter, 85, of Alpena went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, December 24, 2021, at home.
Marlene Thelma Manning was born on July 10, 1936, in Alpena County, Michigan to the late Walter and Edna (Smith) Manning. On July 23, 1955, she married William Fetter. He preceded her in death on November 28, 1998. Marlene was an active member of First Baptist Church – Alpena. She had a love and devotion to children, as a foster parent to numerous babies for 31 years.
Left to cherish her memory are her six children, Billi (Ron) Henderson, Cindy (Alan) Graham, Tami (Rich) Bannatyne, Richard (Jill) Fetter, Joel (Lisa) Fetter, Kathy Fetter; foster son, Dennis Powers; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; six siblings, Joyce McCord, Betty (Paul) Thompson, Gary ‘Butch’ (Karen) Manning, Mike (Sandy) Manning, Randy (Mary) Manning, Sue (Norm) Zolnierek; sister-in-law, Jannette Manning; and several nieces and nephews.
Marlene is reunited with her brother, Glen Manning.
A private graveside service will take place at Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Bannan Funeral Home.
Inurnment: Evergreen Cemetery
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Michigan or Alpena Baby Pantry.
