Lois Centala

Lois Centala, 89, of Alpena passed away Friday, December 3, 2021, at Medilodge – Alpena.

Mary Lois Jerome was born on July 31, 1932, to the late William and Clara (Dulea) Jerome.  On May 4, 1957, Lois married Anthony Centala.  He preceded her in death on January 15, 1994.  Lois worked at the Alpena County Medical Credit Union, retiring as the manager in 1997.  She was an active community volunteer and leader through many organizations including the Zonta Club, Alpena General Hospital Tray Club, Girls Club, Lifelong Learners.  She was a member of All Saints Parish and enjoyed traveling.

Surviving are two children, Michael (Mary) Centala, Julie (Andres) Uribe; three grandsons, Brian (Caryn) Centala, Andrew Centala, William Centala; 1 great granddaughter, Maggie; two siblings, Donald (LuAnn) Jerome, Patricia (Jack) Tucker; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place at the Bannan Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, from 4-8 p.m. with a parish prayer service at 7 p.m.  Visitation will continue on Thursday at St. Bernard Church of All Saints Parish from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Rev. Tyler Bischoff officiating.  Streaming will be available at www.bannanfuneralhome.com.
