Laura Coleman

Laura Ann Coleman went to be with her Heavenly Father on Tuesday, April 27, 2021. She was born February 17, 1968 in Warren, Michigan and grew up there with her parents and her brother, Paul. She graduated from Warren Woods-Tower High School in 1986. Laura enjoyed Tiger baseball games and watching MSU basketball or football games on tv. She completed many beautiful counted cross stitch pieces and gifted her friends with them. Laura and her parents moved to St. Louis, Michigan in 2000 and she donated several pieces to the First United Methodist Church there. They moved to Alpena in 2012, retiring up north where Laura enjoyed taking long rides on her red recumbent bike along the Alpena Bi-Path.

Laura has been a member of the Order of the Eastern Star since 1989 and held many offices including Worthy Matron. She was a past Grand Representative of Utah 2009-2011. She attended Utah Grand Chapter in Salt Lake City in 2009. She enjoyed traveling throughout Michigan, making new friends and greeting old ones. She especially cherished her best friends, Mary and Dale Christensen of West Jordan, Utah. She used her computer to stay in touch with everyone.

Laura had a full life and she will be missed by those who loved her. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Alpena. Surviving are her parents, Jim and Paula Coleman; brother, Paul (Pam) Coleman; niece, Samantha Coleman; uncle and aunt, Ken and Karen Bushouse; aunt, Mary Kay Cooney; and many cousins.

Visitation will take place Saturday at Bannan Funeral Home from 1-3 p.m. followed immediately with a private funeral service officiated by Rev. Arnie Kirschner. Live streaming will be available at www.bannanfuneralhome.com.

Interment:  Acacia Park Cemetery, Beverly Hills, Michigan
