Karen Elizabeth Rea, 78, of Hillman passed away Monday, October 4, 2021, at her daughter’s home in Waterford, Michigan.

Karen Elizabeth Bouchey was born on March 12, 1943, in Brownstown Township, Michigan to the late Joseph and Grace (Benac) Bouchey. On August 26, 1961, she married Gerald Rea. He preceded her in death on August 29, 2003. Karen enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, volunteering, helping at St. Augustine Catholic Church, C.C.W. Officer, pontooning on Lake Avalon, Nascar, playing cards, board games, Bunco, and was an extraordinary minister of the Eucharist.

Surviving are three children, Tamyra Schumacher, Patricia (Stephen) Cross, Steven (Lee) Rea; six grandchildren, Amanda (Michael) Richmond, McKenzie (Ryszard Szlenkie) Rea, Tyler Rea, Todd Rea, Adam Schumacher, Blase Schumacher; three step grandchildren, Steve (Jenny) Cross, Ryan (Laura) Cross, Jasmine Burnett; five great grandchildren, Luna, Odin, Soleil Richmond, Harper, Henry Szlenkier; five step great grandchildren, Arianna Cross, Xavier Cross, Kousa, Nanami, Aili Monro; brothers, Gary (Gloria) Bouchey, Thomas (Rosemary) Bouchey; sister-in-law, Carrie Bouchey; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Mrs. Rea was preceded in death by her sons, Thomas Rea, Todd Rea; and brother, Donald Bouchey.

Visitation will take place Saturday at St. Augustine Catholic Church from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 12 p.m. with Rev. James Siler officiating. Arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home. Live streaming at bannanfuneralhome.com.

Interment:  St. Augustine Catholic Church

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Augustine Catholic Church.
