Joseph Allen Grzeskowiak, 78, of Ossineke passed away Friday, February 22, 2019 at MidMichigan Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Joseph was born on December 23, 1940 in Alpena to the late John and Eva (Sylvester) Grzeskowiak and married Diana Egelski on April 14, 1962. He started working for Huron Portland Cement in 1958 and sailed on the E.M. Ford for a few years, then started working in repair until his retirement from LaFarge in 1998. Joe enjoyed being outdoors fishing, hunting and gardening at his hunting property where he built a log cabin along with family and his good friend, Randy.
Surviving are his wife Diana; 4 children, Sheri (Duane) Alexander, Douglas Grzeskowiak, Annette (Partick McLaren) Grzeskowiak, Michelle Runyon; 6 grandchildren, Brandon Garrow, Arika Cronin, Justin Cronin, Joey Grzeskowiak, Logan Runyon, Corinn Robbins; 4 great grandchildren, Alivia, Lachlan, Lyra, Jade; 4 siblings, Robert Grzeskowiak, William (Elaine) Grzeskowiak, Frances Mahalak, Albert (Gayle) Grzeskowiak; sister-in-law, Bette Grzeskowiak; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Grzeskowiak was preceded in death by 7 siblings, Tony, Louis, John, Walt, George, Rose Elliot and Eva Chrzan.
Memorial visitation will take place at the Bannan Funeral Home on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 12 noon with Rev. Michael Kelley officiating.
