James Alan Zavislak, 74, of Hillman passed away Saturday, May 21, 2022, at home.
Jim was born on August 29, 1947, in Hamtramck, Michigan to Steve and Genevieve (Witkowski) Zavislak. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and owned Jim’s Garage in Hillman. Additionally, he served as the Montmorency County Drain Commissioner, Hillman School Board, past Master and Secretary of Masons, Atlanta 516 Chapter, 2003 State Mason of the Year, Veteran’s Affairs Counselor, Thunder Bay Watershed Counsel, Montmorency Conservation Club, and more. He married Phyllis Hunkele on August 28, 1971. She preceded him in death on January 2, 1999.
Father of Jason Zavislak and Andrea Zavislak, brother of Tom (Joyce), Ken (Deloris), and Gary (Tina) Zavislak.
A masonic service and military honors will take place Sunday, May 29, 2022, at Hillman VFW Post 2356 at 11 a.m. Cremation arrangements by the Bannan Funeral Home.
