Harvey Pope West, Jr.

Harvey Pope West Jr., 88, of Hillman passed away Thursday, June 17, 2021, at home.

Harvey was born on March 4, 1933, in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Harvey and Eugenia (Campbell) West. He served in the United States Air Force from 1953 until his honorable discharge in 1957.  On January 30, 1958, he married Patricia Kinter. He worked as a truck driver, owning, and operating his own truck for several years before his retirement.  In retirement, he purchased Ike’s Bar operating it from 1984 – 89.  Together he and Pat enjoyed traveling in their fifth wheel across the United States.

Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Patricia; son, Richard (Maggie) West; and two grandchildren, Robyn Vogel and David West.

Cremation arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.  A family memorial service will take place at a later date.
