Grace E. Mitchell

Grace E. Mitchell, 94, of Alpena passed away Friday, July 8, 2022, at the Besser Senior Living Community.

Grace Emma McDaniel was born in Highland Park on June 2, 1928, to the late Oliver and Grace (Nisbet) McDaniel.  She graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 1950 with a teacher’s certificate in early elementary education.  She taught in the Southfield, Traverse City, Highland Park, Royal Oak, and Rogers City school systems.  On June 27, 1953, she married William S. Mitchell.  In 1968, she moved to Rogers City with her husband and two children, David and Megan.  Bill preceded her in death on April 13, 2020.

Surviving are son, David A. Mitchell; daughter, Megan A. (Terence) LeTourneau; three grandsons, Bret, Evan and Alec LeTourneau; brother-in-law, Alan (Peggy) Dansard; niece, Anne (Rick) D’Angelo; and a great niece, Lauren D’Angelo.

A graveside service will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery in Rogers City.  Cremation arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
