Gladys (Glad) E. Bennett, age 80, of Hillman passed away December 22, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Glad was born November 9, 1940 to the late William and Isabelle (Edmonds) Tucker in Lachine, MI.  She married William (Bill) Bennett on March 8, 1963. He preceded her in death on April 3, 2006. She was a secretary/bookkeeper for several offices including Dr. Ryker and Dr. Ristow.  Glad was well known for her amazing home cooked meals and baking skills including her famous cinnamon rolls! She was a self-taught artist who enjoyed painting wildlife, nature and portraits of her grandchildren in her painting studio. She was a seamstress, enjoyed canning, gardening and excelled at anything she set her mind too.  Her favorite hobby was fishing for pike & perch and having fish fry’s!  Her home was a neighborhood favorite with always enough food to feed anyone who stopped by.

Glad is survived by her special friend & companion, Pat Turner, four children: Scott (Autumn) Bennett of Alpena, Dan (Christin) Bennett of Jenison, Kelly (Perry) Losinski of Alpena and Shelly (Randy) Gibbs of Hillman. 11 grandchildren & 9 great grandchildren: John (Shanda) Bennett (Layla & Alexa Bennett), Karah (Abhik) Roy (Priyanya, Aaliyah & Ariyanna Roy), Katherine (Felix Cruz) Bennett (Ayden & Landen Cruz), Emily Bennett (Jayce Bennett), Sydney Bennett, Kelsey (Jaque) DeWitt (Aurora DeWitt), Ryan Bennett, Dani & Alli Losinski, Hutch Gibbons, Amanda (Jesse Lennier) Copeland (Kynsley).  Sister: Shirley (John) Hering and Brothers: Maurice (Donna) Tucker, Tom (Sue) Tucker & Cecil (Judy) Tucker. Sister-in-law: Jean Tucker. Brothers-in-law: Ray Myers and Larry Zottneck; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her 2 grandsons: Bradley Bennett & Gilly Gibbons, 4 brothers: Mac, Lloyd, William & Bernard Tucker. 3 sisters: Elizabeth Tucker, Joan Myers & Nora Zottneck.

Memorial visitation will take place Tuesday at First Assembly of God Church from 11 a.m. until the memorial service at 1 p.m. with Rev. Kerry Clark officiating. Livestreaming will be available at www.bannanfuneralhome.com. Arrangements by the Bannan Funeral Home.
