Gerald “Pete” George Rondeau, 73, of Spruce passed away Thursday, December 15, 2022, at his home.

 

Born on February 14, 1949, in Alpena to the late Lawrence and Clara (Leesburg) Rondeau and married Vickie Ratz on August 17, 1979.  Pete served in the Army National Guard for 20 years and enjoyed running his own sawmill.  He enjoyed deer hunting, found joy in the annual fishing trip with family and just spending time in the woods.

 

He is survived by his wife, Vickie; children, Brenda Hanson, Billi (Rob) Edmonds, Larry (Tara) Rondeau, Joe (Haylee Brinks) Rondeau; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 7 siblings, Leon (April) Rondeau, William Rondeau, Mick (Dawn) Rondeau, Roy (Nancy) Rondeau, Tom (Chris) Rondeau, Barry Rondeau, Ann (Jack) Skuse; sister-in-law, Joyce Rondeau; several nieces and nephews.

 

Mr. Rondeau was preceded in death by brothers, Dale Rondeau, Terry (Janet) Rondeau and Goddaughter, Cassie Newman.

 

Visitation will take place on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at the Bannan Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Bryan R. Salminen officiating.

 

Interment: Hope Cemetery

 

Memorials: St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital or Tunnel to Towers Foundation
