Gerald Bishop

Gerald Stewart Bishop, 87, of Alpena passed away Saturday, July 3, 2021, at MidMichigan Medical Center – Alpena.

Jerry was born in Alpena on May 17, 1934, to the late Harold and Edna (Black) Bishop and served in the United States Army.  He married Carole Segorski on April 15, 1961.  He retired from Fletcher Paper Mill in 1999, after 37 years.  Jerry was a life member of the Alpena Hopper Lodge, a ham radio operator for numerous years, enjoyed fishing, playing the guitar, banjo and played for Pickin-for-People.

Surviving are his wife, Carole; 4 children, Kevin Bishop, Scott (Elgene Bishop, Erin Bishop and Melanie Bishop; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren.

Cremation arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
