Gary M. Steinke

Gary M. Steinke, age 69, of Hillman passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at home.

He was born on October 17, 1953, to the late Edwin and Phyllis (Nelson) Steinke. Gary worked as a heavy equipment operator for Cordes Excavating and Team Elmers. Once he retired, he continued to work as a heavy equipment operator on the side. He resided at his family home and loved to hunt. He enjoyed playing cards at the hunting camp each year.

Surviving are his sister, Joyce (Steinke) Cordes of Hillman; sister-in-law, Evelyn Steinke; nephews and nieces Christopher Steinke, Darwin Steinke, James Steinke; Doug Helman, Alicia Helman, Brad Cordes and Michael Cordes, Gina (Cordes) Robertson; 7 great-nephews and nieces, Ethan, Shayley, Gavin, Michael, Elizabeth, Brandon, Isabella, Gracie, Kiryanna, Brady and Bryce.

Preceding him in death was his significant other, Lorraine; brother, Robert Steinke; sister, Lisa (Steinke) Ferguson; and brother-in-law, Duane Cordes.

Memorial visitation will take place Saturday, November 26, 2022, at St. John Lutheran Church, Royston from 1 p.m. until the memorial service at 2 p.m. with Rev. Jason Mandley officiating. Arrangements have been made by the Bannan Funeral Home.
