Francis John Kaiser, 84, of Alpena passed away Thursday, May 13, 2021 at MidMichigan Medical Center – Midland.
Francis was born on March 5, 1937 in Alpena to the late John and Edna (St. Charles) Kaiser. He served in the United States Navy and retired from the United States Post Office in 1992. On January 10, 1981, he married Doris Herron. Francis was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Moose, and Eagles. He enjoyed spending 21 winters in Arizona, golfing, dancing, playing cards, and shuffleboard.
Surviving are his wife, Doris; five children, Phillip (Delia) Kaiser, Marie (Tom) Townsend, Greg (Cheryl Accurso) Kaiser, Ralph (Sharon) Kaiser, Iris (Mike) Hague; 9 grandchildren, Brian (Lori) Townsend, Carly Kaiser, Lucas Kaiser, Jack Kaiser, Max Kaiser, Dylan Kaiser, Cassie Kaiser, Megan Hague, Mia Hague; and two great grandchildren, Morgan and Max; and brother, Clare Kaiser.
Mr. Kaiser was preceded in death by eight siblings, Adeline, Donald, Robert, Agnes Anderson, Louise Lewis, Louis Kaiser, Raymond Kaiser, and Theresa Hanner.
Memorial visitation will take place Wednesday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church from 12 p.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 2 p.m. with Rev. James Fitzpatrick officiating followed by military honors accorded him by Alpena V.F.W. Post 2496. Arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
