Evelyn Emma Siegert was born April 30, 1931, to the late Ewald and Margaret (Domke) Siegert in Alpena County, Michigan. She married Willard “Bud” Werth on September 3, 1949. He preceded her in death on December 15, 2004. Evelyn was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
Evelyn was a hard, hard worker. Everyone marveled at her energy and ability to do so much. She was always excited to have family and friends stop by. Evelyn kept in touch with family and friends by telephone. She’d call and say “just checking in—make sure you’re busy!” Evelyn had a green thumb and knew how to keep her flowers and plants beautiful and blooming. She was always so proud when people stopped by to take photographs of her gardens. She was always happy to share her recipes especially bread.
Evelyn was sure to brighten your day making you feel welcome and loved sharing her morning coffee. She was very generous with her time and chose to be cheerful. Evelyn liked having fun and especially enjoyed conversations that made her laugh. She enjoyed dancing to waltzes and polkas.
