Estella Mae Frantz, 85, of Alpena passed away Monday, March 22, 2021 at Sally’s Care Home surrounded by her loving family.

Estella Mae Alexander was born on December 28, 1935 in Alpena to the late Norman and Adeline (Gosslin) Alexander. In 1955, she married Bernard Dufrense. He preceded her in death on September 29, 1956. She later married Robert Frantz on February 5, 1960 and he preceded her in death on May 21, 2005. Estella retired from Alpena Public Schools as a first-grade teacher. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church – Alpena and a 4-H leader of the Trail Busters Club.

Surviving are her two sons, Larry (Darlene) Frantz, Rob (Alicia Kleiber) Frantz; six grandchildren, Erik (Jessica) Frantz, Matthew (Jessica) Frantz, Ashley (Mike) Paulsell, Joshua (Maggie) Frantz, Tiffany Frantz, Kent (fiancée Courtney Holsworth) Frantz; 8 great grandchildren, Stella, Harper, Kenzie, Jacqualine, Nolan, Brayln, Jayce, Levi; siblings, James (Trudy) Alexander, Judy (Dennis) Woerman, Ervin (Darlene) Alexander, Linda (John) Soldenski, Ray (Joyce) Alexander, Connie (Ron) Lucas; sister-in-law, Marie Ann Alexander; several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Frantz was preceded in death by two siblings, Norman Alexander and Carol Conn.

Visitation will take place Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church – Alpena from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 1 p.m. with Rev. John Shipman officiating. For those unable to attend, live streaming is available at www.bannanfuneralhome.com. Arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.
