Clarence Allen Girard, 80, of Alpena passed away Friday, December 3, 2021, at Medilodge of Alpena.
Clarence was born in Alpena on April 13, 1941, to the late Clarence and Vera (Wilson) Girard. He served in the United States Air Force during the Cold War, receiving the Missileman Badge and was a sharpshooter. On April 23, 1988, he married Mary Rouleau. Clarence retired from Besser Company as a skilled machinist. He was a member of VFW Post 2496, Parkinson’s Support Group-Alpena, was an avid archer and volunteered at St. Vincent DePaul.
Surviving are his wife, Mary; three children, Jeff Girard, Glen (Sally) Girard, Jamie (Kelly) Girard; four stepdaughters, Darlene (Michael) Wade, Linda (Scott) Bloomberg, Kelly (Fred) Reller, Debbie Lewis; 14 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; two brothers, David (Jean) Girard, Wayne (Charmaine) Girard; and brother-in-law, Charles Neumann.
Mr. Girard was preceded in death by his stepson, Bradley Rouleau; brother, Roy Girard; two sisters, Cheryl Neumann and Sharon Boyk.
Visitation will take place Tuesday at Bannan Funeral Home from 2-7 p.m. with military honors accorded him by Alpena V.F.W. Post 2496 at 5 p.m. Visitation will continue Wednesday at St. John the Baptist Church of All Saints Parish from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 11 a.m. with Deacon Mike Roy officiating.
