Betty Smigelski

Betty Jane Smigelski. 61, of Alpena passed away Saturday, January 30, 2021 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Betty Jane LaCross was born in Alpena on September 26, 1959 to the late Thomas and Joyce (White) LaCross and married Donald Smigelski on October 6, 1979.  She was employed at Alpena Public Schools and has been a board member of Friends Together for 15 years.  Betty was a member of All Saints Parish, Friends Together, enjoyed her Wednesday “Sew Sista’s” and spending time at Long Lake with family and friends.

Surviving are her husband, Don; 3 sons, Philip Smigelski, William (Lori) Smigelski, Andrew (fiancée, Emily Kroll) Smigelski; 3 grandchildren, Gabriel, Hailey, Hannah; 7 siblings, Edmund (Suzii) LaCross, Thomas (Gerrie) LaCross, Debbie Gleason, Peggy (Tom) Marzean, Patti (Mike Laseck) LaCross, Diane (Mike) Brown, Mark LaCross; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place at the Bannan Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2 p.m. until the time of the private parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m.  Visitation will continue at St. Anne Church of All Saints Parish on Thursday from 2 p.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 3 p.m.   For those unable to attend both parish prayer service and Mass will be livestreamed at www.bannanfuneralhome.com.
