Alta Marie Courtright

Alta Marie Courtright, 75, of Hillman passed away Sunday, February 26, 2023, at MyMichigan Medical Center – Alpena.

Alta Marie Funk was born April 14, 1947, in Alpena to the late Lester and Wilburta (Brown) Funk. On February 14, 1970, she married Donald Gapske. He preceded her in death on February 11, 1994. She later married Gerald Courtright on September 13, 1997. Alta was a lifetime member of Hillman VFW Auxiliary and Pleasant Valley Free Methodist Church. She enjoyed crocheting and working at Bannan Funeral Home – Hillman.

Surviving are her husband, Gerald; son, Kevin Gapske; three step children, Bob Courtright, Kim Wright, Jerry (Geri Daniels) Courtright; several step grandchildren; brothers, Wilbur (Charlotte) Funk, Roger (Karen) Funk; sister-in-law, Becky Funk; and several nieces and nephews.

Alta was preceded in death by her brother, Lyle Funk; two step children, Donald Courtright and Ronald Courtright.

Visitation will take place Saturday at Bannan Funeral Home – Hillman from 11 a.m. until the VFW Auxiliary at 1 p.m. followed by the funeral service with Pastor Shelley Hadfield officiating.

Interment: Hillman Rust Township Cemetery
