Alice P. Kendziorski, 92, of Alpena passed away Friday, March 22, 2019, at her home.
On April 10, 1926, Alice was born to the late Ignatuis and Victoria (Wyrembelski) Kapala, the eleventh child among 7 sisters and 5 brothers. She attended Polaski Station School and St. Casimir’s Catholic elementary schools. She was the salutatorian and class secretary of the class of 1944 of the Posen High School.
She was employed by the Fraser Products during World War II. She married her late husband, Anthony Thomas Kendziorski, on November 24, 1945 (he preceded her in death on October 21, 2013) at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Posen by the late Rev. Zigmund Haremski. Alice was a member of the Rosary Group #5 of St. Mary Catholic Church. She enjoyed raising her family of 10 children, gardening, sewing, and cooking, baking, canning food, and the outdoors.
Surviving are her ten children, Anthony (Marie), Blaise (Judy), Damian (Patricia), Lawrence (Linda), Dennis (Peggy), Melvin (Elizabeth), Duane (Debra), Ervin Robert (Annette), Annette (Curtis) Kelley, Brian (Theresa); 33 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; sister, Blanche Daoust; and several nieces and nephews.
Alice was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Rita Kendziorski; two grandsons, Jason Kendziorski, Jason O’rear; five brothers, Walter, Edward, Dominic, Peter, Benedict Kapala; six sisters, Sophie Wozniak, Veronica Hilla, Agnes Sherey, Stella Kendziorski, Regina Zakshesky, and Theodosia (Daisy) Woloszyk.
Visitation will take place at Bannan Funeral Home on Monday from 2-8 p.m. with the Rosary at 3 p.m. and parish prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue Tuesday at St. Anne Church of All Saints Parish from 10 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Rev. James Fitzpatrick officiating.
Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to All Saints School, Compassionate Care or Hospice of Michigan.
