Myrna Louise (Kortman) Jaskolski

February 27, 1935 ~ July 16, 2018 (age 83)

Myrna Louise Jaskolski, 83 of Alpena passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on July 16, 2018.

Myrna was born on February 27, 1935 to Louis and Vivian (Munroe) Kortman. During her childhood years, Myrna worked on her family farm. She married Frank Jaskolski on April 16, 1954 and together they raised four children. Frank preceded her in death on December 13, 2004. Myrna attended St. John the Baptist Church for many years and was true to her Catholic faith. She worked at J.C. Penney for 25 years before retiring. Myrna was a soft spoken, quiet, exceptionally passive lady who always looked for the good in everyone. She will be sadly missed.

Surviving are her four children, David (Donna) Jaskolski, Lori Jaskolski, Patricia (Rick) Hodgins, Susan Jaskolski; “adopted daughter”, Kelly McKay; grandchildren, Jennifer Hodgins (Eric Sobeck), Walker & Cole Jaskolski; great grandchildren, Ryan, Alexus & Alizah Jaskolski, Joshua Sobeck; sister, Judy McLaren; brothers, Gary (Helen) Kortman, Bill (Marion) Kortman; brother-in-law, William Jaskolski; and many nieces, nephews, and friends; also a very special niece, Debra Sylvester, who was always there for her Aunt Myrna. Also, her feline babies, Sophie and Lucy.

Preceding her in death were her grandson, Daniel Hodgins; granddaughter, Sarah Jaskolski; great grandson, Tyler Jaskolski; brothers-in-law, Victor and Daniel Jaskolski; and sisters-in-law, Naomi and Florence Jaskolski.

Myrna has been taken to Bannan Funeral Home for cremation. Per Myrna’s wishes, there will be no service. A very special thanks to Hospice of Michigan who took great care of Myrna and her family. Much appreciation and gratitude to a wonderful, caring staff.
