Grace Josephine Skiba (nee Adamski) 89, of Alpena, went home to her Lord and Savior on October 21, 2007.

Grace was born on September 27, 1918 in Ossineke to Walter and Effie (Bryza) Adamski. On May 15, 1939 she married Raymond J. Skiba at St. Catherine Catholic Church, Ossineke. They were blessed with 62 years or marriage. Grace was a loving mother and grandmother and she enjoyed being a homemaker. She enjoyed family activities including hunting, fishing, crafts, gardening, baking and cooking.
Grace was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.
She is survived by her children: Raymond L. (Joan) Skiba of Alpena, Walter F. (Bonnie) Skiba of Chattanooga, TN, Thomas R. (Lorie) Skiba of Kernersville, NC, Grace Ann (Daniel) Kline of Alpena, MI, and daughter-in-law Lori Skiba of Alpena; five grandchildren: Lisa M. (Michael) Lach of Wyoming, MI, Timothy J. Skiba of Ooltewah, TN, Kathleen A. Skiba of Chattanooga, TN, Erin N. Skiba of The Woodlands, TX, and Megan (Robert) Moorefield of Oak Ridge, NC; three great-grandchildren: Sara and Joshua Lach and Emily Moorefield; two sisters: Margaret Couture of Grand Rapids, MI, and Vivian Bauer of Alpena; one brother, Thomas H. Adamski of Alpena; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Raymond J. Skiba, and son, Kenneth J. Skiba; three brothers: Leo, John, and Leonard; and four sisters: Helen, Eva, Viola and Agnes.
Mrs. Skiba is at Bannan Funeral Home where friends may call on Tuesday from 2-8 p.m. where the rosary will be recited at 3 p.m. and a parish prayer service will be at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 noon with Rev. Greg McCallum officiating. In lieu of flowers, please direct your memorial to a charity.
Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery
