Gustav F. Schultz, 78, of 2490 Diamond Drive, Alpena, passed away on Monday, October 22, 2007.

Gustav was born in Alpena on August 19, 1929 to Franz and Rosina (Messal) Schultz and married the former Norma Cascaddan on March 16, 1949. He had been employed as a repairman at Huron Portland Cement, retiring in 1987. Mr. Schultz enjoyed the woods, his John Deere tractor, loved his grandchildren and playing cards.

He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.

Surviving are his wife, Norma; 5 children: Jean (Dennis) Johnson, Gus (Mary Jo) Schultz, Gail (Ron) Trafelet, Susan (Ken) Kaiser, and John (Ann) Schultz; 16 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters: Mathilda Glaser; Hilma Beitler, Gertrude Thiem, Hertha Ferguson; 1 brother, Franz (Loraine).

Preceding him in death were 6 brothers: William, Henry, Edmund, Ewald, Donald, and Marvin; and three sisters: Lena Bartz, Elsie Haselhuhn and Rosina Erkfitz.

Mr. Schultz is at Bannan Funeral Home where friends may call on Thursday from 2-8 p.m. and will continue Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Rodney Haselhuhn officiating.

Inurnment: Evergreen Cemetery
