Lavina Gretchen Scheller, 82, of 1160 Fern Lane, Alpena, passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2007, at Alpena Regional Medical Center.

Lavina was born in Hillman on February 3, 1925 to Henry and Alice (Seymor) Havermahl and married Lewis Jennings Scheller on February 17, 1948.   He preceded her in death on October 18, 2006.  Lavina was an excellent seamstress, cook, loved to garden and was a dedicated Tiger fan.

She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Surviving are 2 sons:  Lewis Alan and Lawrence; stepdaughter, Lameeka "Micky" (Mrs. George) Varozza; 6 grandchildren:  Darcie, Blain, Blake and Kassie Scheller and fiancé Don Leaym, Jeffery and Dan Varozza;  and a sister-in-law, Anna Havermahl.

Preceding her in death were a son, Linwood; and 4 brothers:  Art, Hank, Charlie, and Milton.

Visitation for Mrs. Scheller will take place at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. William Morris officiating.   Arrangements are being handled by Bannan Funeral Home.
