Marie Ortlieb, 98, of 14452 N. Spruce Road, Spruce, passed away at Tendercare/Greenview on Wednesday, December 12, 2007.

Born Marie Moggie on August 1, 1909 in Russia to the late Adolph and Emily Moggie, she married John Ortlieb on January 18, 1930 in Detroit.  He preceded her in death on April 13, 1981.

Mrs. Ortlieb was a charter member of Hope Lutheran Church.

Surviving are 2 sons, E. Arthur and Betty Meggert of Spruce, William and Charlotte Ortlieb of Alpena; 1 daughter, Elsie Schultz of California; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her son, Emil Ortlieb; 2 brothers, Carl Moggie and Adolph Moggie; and 2 grandchildren.

Visitation for Mrs. Ortlieb will be Friday from 4-8 p.m. at Hope Lutheran Church and will continue Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Herbert Kitzman officiating.  Arrangements are being handled by Bannan Funeral Home.   In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends choice.
