Dorothy Marian Jacobs
, 93, of Lachine, passed away at Victoria Adult Foster Care Home in Lachine on Sunday, February 14, 2010.

She was born to William and Hattie (Kirchoff) Bahling on August 3, 1916 in Wellington Township. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Alpena and later married Austin Jacobs at St. Paul Lutheran Church on November 1, 1947. They moved to their farm on Salina Road and engaged in beef farming. Mr. Jacobs preceded her in death on June 16, 1993.

In her early years she worked in Alpena as a housekeeper then moved to Pontiac where she was employed at Pontiac State Hospital. In 1944 during W.W.II she joined the WAC's (Women's Army Corps) and was stationed at Selfridge Field, Michigan with the 146th Base Unit, First Air Force and worked as a dental technician.

Dorothy was a full time homemaker, devoted to her family. She enjoyed family reunions, gardening, baking and cooking, collecting antiques, doing crosswords and she liked to draw.

Surviving are her son Terry, one sister: Harriet Scheller, two brothers Frank and Ernest (Marie) Bahling and many cousins, nephews and nieces. She will be missed by family and friends.

She was preceded in death by three sisters: Esther DeCare, Helen Davis and Delight Bahling and one brother Ervin.

Mrs. Jacobs is at the Bannan Funeral Home where friends may call on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church from 1 p.m. until time of funeral service at 2 p.m. with Rev. Rodney Haselhuhn officiating.

Interment: Long Rapids Cemetery
