Orrin G. "Butch" Hibner, 67, of Lachine, died at home on Monday, July 5, 2010, surrounded by those he loved after a valiant and courageous fight against leukemia. He endured without complaint, but with dignity, grace, humility, and humor.

Orrin was born on November 5, 1942 in Alpena to the late Orrin L. and Annie (Horton) Hibner. He held many careers from logger and sawyer, to Village President of Hillman, and most recently as EMT for Green Township Volunteer Fire Department. He loved music and was proud to pass on his musical heritage to his children, grandchildren, and anyone else who would care to sit and strum a tune. He also enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing.
Butch is survived by his loving and devoted partner, Karen Piper; 4 children, Kimberly (Steven) Elkie, Lynn (Darwin) Edmonds, Bonnie (Ray) Goff, Daniel Hibner (Shawndelle Ritthaler); 5 grandchildren, Scott, Sheldon, Zachary, Natalie, Evan; 2 sisters; 1 brother; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Preceding him in death was his brother, Hugh Hibner.
Family and friends may call at the Bannan Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. where the funeral service will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Art Fournier officiating.
Interment: Long Rapids Cemetery
