Alice Marguerite French
, 97, of 233 Potter Street, Alpena, passed away Tuesday, February 9, 2010, at Back Home Adult Foster Care Home.

Alice Marguerite Schomer was born on May 15, 1912 in Alpena to the late John and Alice (Comski) Schomer and married Arthur French on June 1, 1932. He preceded her in death on October 15, 1984.

Mrs. French was a member of First United Methodist Church, Alcona County Extension Domestic Housewive's. She enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, hiking, bird watching, gardening. Alice also enjoyed oil and china painting.

Surviving are two sons, Kenneth and wife Deanna of Colorado, Dann and wife Elizabeth of Lachine; 4 grandchildren, Arlin and wife Kathy, Loren and wife Cara, Kenneth and wife Gina, Adam; and 6 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. French was preceded in death by her sister, Lillian Larson.

Mrs. French is at the Bannan Funeral Home where friends may call on Thursday from 2-8 p.m. and where the funeral service will take place on Friday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Eugene Bacon officiating.

Interment: Evergreen Cemetery
