Kim Robert Copping, 55, of 3320 Piper Road, Alpena, passed away at home on Tuesday, July 27, 2010, surrounded by his family and friends following a lengthy battle with cancer.

Born in Alpena on December 7, 1954 to Kenneth and Yvonne (Burke) Copping. Kim married Laurie Kuchnicki on December 5, 1987. Along with his parents and brother James, Kim owned and operated C & S Carriers and Ken's Truck Sales. He was a member of the Alpena Moose Lodge, the Mason's, Side Track Hunting Camp and the Alpena Sportsmen's Club.
Surviving are his wife Laurie; 3 daughters, Kelsie, Katelyn, Brianna; grandson Aiden Kaminske; Kim's mother, Yvonne Copping; brother, James and wife Lynn; mother and father in law, Robert and Joann Kuchnicki all of Alpena; aunts Pat (Skip) Sheeran of Lake Orion, Joyce (George) Ross of Gaylord; nephews Travis Konarzewski, Matthew Copping, niece Jamie Copping; 2 special sisters in law: Sue (Tom) Bustillos, Peggy and friend Gary; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Mr. Copping was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth, sister Patti Konarzewski.
Family and friends may call at the Bannan Funeral Home on Friday from 2-8 p.m. Visitation will continue on Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church from 11 a.m. until time of memorial service at 12 noon with Rev. Owen Williams officiating. Cremation has taken place.
