Norman F. Burns, Jr., 60, of 811 S. Garden Street, Alpena, passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at Alpena Regional Medical Center.

Norman was born on November 9, 1949 in Alpena to the late Norman and Meryl (Hester) Burns, Sr. and served in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam Conflict. On September 8, 1973 Norman married the former Colleen Rea. He had been employed at Besser Company.

Surviving are his wife, Colleen; son, Kenneth Burns of Alpena; grandson, Dylan Fitzpatrick; 3 sisters, Kay Lusk of Alpena, Judith (Merl) Walker of Wisconsin, Vicki (Timothy) Dusterhoft of Wisconsin; 3 brothers, Frank (Kim) of Alpena, Lee of North Dakota, and Richard of Alpena.

A sister, Genevieve Washington, preceded him in death.

Visitation will be held at the Bannan Funeral Home on Saturday from 1:00 until the time of the memorial service at 2:00 p.m. with Scott Pfeiffer officiating.
