Leo Otto Boyk

November 17, 1942 ~ January 21, 2018 (age 75)

Leo Otto Boyk, 75, of Alpena went to his heavenly home on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Tendercare – Alpena, being reunited with many loved ones.

Leo was born November 17, 1942 to the late Otto and Helen (Marculewicz) Boyk of Posen.  On September 9, 1978 he married the love of his life Sharon Kay Marie Girard.  She preceded him on April 8, 1999.   Leo will be remembered for being a hard worker and retired from Abitibi after 34 years.  He built his own little paradise in the woods on his father’s 40 acres of hunting land where he loved to hunt with his son Brian and have family gatherings.  He had a strong passion for animals and enjoyed being in nature, taking walks his “sweetie” Betty.   He was a member of All Saints Parish.  Being devoted to his Catholic faith, Leo served as an Eucharistic Minister for many years providing Holy Communion to shut-ins.  He enjoyed country music, but most importantly was a loving dad and grandpa.

Surviving are his 4 children, Brian Boyk, Tracy (Tim) Kline, Audrey (Dave) Reprogal, Lynn Boyk; 10 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Bernard Boyk, Richard (Darlene) Boyk; 2 sisters, Julie and Tom Goodall, Marie and Al Momrik; his sweetie, Betty Olsen; many more family and friends that will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Adam; sister-in-law, Patty Boyk.

Visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Church of All Saints Parish from 10 a.m. until time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 12 noon with Rev. Joseph Muszkiewicz officiating.  Arrangements have been handled by the Bannan Funeral Home.

Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery next to his loving wife Sharon.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to All Saints Parish.
