Ruth M. Martin, 81, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 8, 2007.

Formerly of Kokomo , Indiana , she has lived in Hillman since June 29, 1984.

Ruth was born in Middlebury , Indiana on February 17, 1926 to the late Jesse and Edith York.  On October 8, 1977 she married Richard "Dick" Martin in Kokomo .

Ruth has been a member of the Hillman Free Methodist Church since 1985 serving as a Sunday School teacher and prayer warrior.  She loved to work with oil paints and has painted saws and pictures all over Michigan , especially for the church.

Surviving are her husband Richard "Dick", 1 daughter Patsy (Mrs. Randall) DeCraene of Mishawaka, Indiana, 1 son Richard (Vickie) Reed of Arlington, Texas, 1 stepson Richard Kent (Sandy) Martin of Kokomo, Indiana, 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 1 sister-in-law Cleo York of Indiana.

Preceding her in death was her brother Roy in 1970.

Visitation:

Friends may call at Bannan Funeral Home/Hillman on Sunday from 2-8 p.m.  Visitation will continue Monday at the Hillman Free Methodist Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Doug McGeorge officiating.
