Joseph was born in Hillman on January 23, 1924 to Alphonse and
Elizabeth (Creamer) LaFleche, and served in the U.S. Army 1943-1945, wher=
e he
received a Purple Heart. He married the former Lorene Kowalski.&nbs=
p;
Joseph once was self-employed and did welding and mechanic work. He=
was
the bus superintendent and mechanic for Hillman Schools, retiring in 1985=
. Surviving are his wife Lorene; 2 daughters, Mary (Rick) Johnson of
Hillman, Susanne (Roger) Pierce of White Lake; 1 son, Joseph (Linda) LaFl=
eche
of Hillman; 3 sisters, Preceding him in death was a sister, Mary Ann Brown.=
Visitation will take place Saturday at St. Augustine Catholic Chur=
ch
from 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral mass at 12 noon with Fr. Claren=
ce
Smolinski officiating. Full military honors will be accorded him by
V.F.W. Hillman Post 2356 at the cemetery. Arrangements by Bannan Funeral Home/Hillman. Interment:=
